This is such an awesome video. Like others have mentioned, Red Skull's line about the power of the gods really came true. However old Peggy telling Steve that none of us can go back and sometimes the best you can do is start over, is what Cap eventually did. He did go back (in time) to start over with Peggy. Makes you wonder if the writers always had this plan.

I think these two would work fine because they are from different backgrounds and Superman comes from a fantasy theme whereas Batman comes from semi-real life world theme. I grew up with Bale as Batman and Routh as Superman.

Fun fact: This almost actually happened. You see, back in 2001-2002 WB was very keen on a script titled "Batman vs Superman: Asylum". It was put on hold in favor of reintroducing Batman and Superman separately, but WB's Super Chief Alan Horn attested that they were still gonna do it after Superman Flyby and a Batman origin film. Flyby was replaced with Superman Returns, and the Batman origin became Batman Begins. They were still gonna do it, even after Batman Begins was so realistic. But when Superman Returns was such a box office failure, Horn and Jeff Robinov canceled the Batman vs Superman / World's Finest project in favor of Nolan continuing his Batman franchise as its own world and instead creating an alternate DC universe with Justice League Mortal. Of course, Justice League Mortal also got canned eventually.

You know, it's a shame the CW didn't coordinate things better and get Routh to share the screen with Slater at some point. It just would've made sense.

It made me realize how these actors and actresses were the ultimate embodiment of the superheroes they played (except, maybe, for the Flash). Although I adore Henri Cavill, Gal Gadot, Heath Ledger and co, one look at Chris Reeves, Lynda Carter and Jack Nicholson and tears flow from my eyes. Of course, it has to do with my childhood but I can't help it. Christopher Reeves IS Superman. And the scene at the end where Helen Slater appears as Supergirl finished me off.

Even thought this was a short story about "Superman," I loved it, because Superman speaks to even me about never giving up in life...
